Tours and Excursions
Orquigonia
Immerse yourself in a forest at an altitude of 1480m and discover more than 450 types of orchid growing in luxuriant natural surroundings. Take a 1 km interpretative trail accompanied by a specialist guide and learn about orchids, medicinal plants and historical species. Observe flora and fauna such as ferns, palms, bromeliads, butterflies, tree frogs, insects and birds.

Sachichá River
The Sachichá River is also home another natural treasure, the Sehacú waterfall, with a drop of approximately 40 metres. The waterfall emerges from the Sapoc Cave, forming a transparent pool surrounded by lush forest.

Hun Nal Ye Ecological Park
We invite you to visit the Hun Nal Ye Ecological Park, a place replete with history, myth and legend, and which is also home to a cave, located at the source of the Dolores River, where an important archaeological discovery was made. Important: for water activities you must know how to swim and take particular care in deep areas with a strong current.

Grottoes of Rey Marcos
A visit to the Grottoes of Rey Marcos is an adventure in which you will learn about our millenary culture in the Alta Verapaz rainforest, a place that has been visited by our ancestors since pre-Columbian times. The excursion includes walking trails, suspension bridges, canopy, boat rides and a visit to the impressive caves.

Quetzal Biotope
The Quetzal Biotope forms part of the Cloud Forest Biological Corridor and is one of the most important reserves in the country, its objective being to protect and conserve the quetzal, Guatemala’s national bird. Start your adventure in search of the quetzal, hiking the trails while appreciating some 50 species of tree and an infinite variety of tropical wildlife. If crystalline waters are your thing, along the way you will pass by cool pools and waterfalls where you can swim.
The Quetzal Biotope is part of the Cloud Forest Biological Corridor and is one of the most important reserves in the country, it’s objective being to protect and conserve the quetzal, Guatemala’s national bird. Along the trails you will observe some 50 species of trees and a wide variety of wildlife. The reserve also features waterfalls and pools with crystalline waters for swimming. Semuc Champey
Semuc Champey is the ultimate experience and one of the most exciting places to visit in Guatemala. Its name in the Q’eqchi’ language means “where the river hides”, due to the effect that the Cahabón river causes when passing under the cave that forms the incredible turquoise water pools. Start the adventure by climbing to the 700m lookout, from where you will have a spectacular view of the pools. Immerse yourself in the crystal clear waters surrounded by stunning vegetation and explore the K’anb’a caves.
